What to do when a substitute is here.
The substitute will have information to relay to you at the beginning of class. Give them all your attention during this time.
- Enter the classroom and find your seat. Get out your journal and prepare for the bell ringer.
- If you have been absent and have an excuse. Prepare it for Mrs. Silva when she enters the room from morning duty
- Look at the class schedule on the board and turn in any work that is due at the beginning of class. No late work is accepted.
- Use the restroom or get water before the tardy bell.
- If you arrive to school late to first block, you should get a tardy excuse from the office.
- For all other class blocks you will sign the tardy log at the assignments table.
End of class
- Make sure your area is free of trash.
- Make sure you take all your belongings.
- Make sure all assignments have been put in your backpack.
Bell ringer
- Look on the board for the bell ringer.
- Write down the title of the song and musical in the proper format in your theatre journal.
- All bell ringers will be posted on the bell ringer sheet on the cork board.
Assignments table
- All past and current day assignments can be found on the assignments table.
- Each class has a designated bin/shelf.
- All assignments should be turned in to the assignments table in the proper bin.
Turing in assignments
- All assignments should be turned in the beginning or the end of class.
- All due dates and times for assignments will be written on the board under the daily schedule.
- No late assignments are accepted.
- Turn in assignments in proper class shelf.
What to do with rubrics
- All rubrics must be kept and turned back in with assignment.
- Rubrics are worth 10 points and when not turned in the student will receive a zero.
Getting missed assignments and rubrics.
- Write down your missing bell ringer.
- Since not all assignments will be printed on paper.
- Look at the board for what we did the day(s) you were absent.
- Check the assignment table for any missing worksheets or rubrics.
- If nothing is on the assignments table, see Mrs. Silva for guidance.
Class attention signal
- Teacher says: ACTORS
- Students reply: ACTION
When and how to use the restroom, or get water.
- Students are not allowed to use the restroom or get water during the first and last 15 minutes of class.
- One student at a time is allowed to use the restroom or get water.
- A pass is necessary for both.
Throwing away trash/recycling
- All paper is to be thrown away in the designated paper box.
- All plastic drinking bottles EXCEPT milk bottles are to be thrown away in the designated recycle box.
- Any and all other trash is to be thrown away in the trash can.
- If the trash can is full, take trash to the large trash can in the hallway.
Passes
- A pass must be obtained from Mrs. Silva for any reason
- Going to the library
- Going to the computer lab
- Going to get water
- Going to the restroom
- Going to the office
- Going to guidance
- Going to another class
Lost and found
- If you leave anything behind in class and it is found, it will be in the lost and found bin.
- If you find anything that is not yours, put it in the lost and found bin.
Charging your phones
- Phones can be charged at the charging station only.
- Students are not to disrupt a lecture to charge their phone.
Proper care for arts and crafts items
- All excess paper and scraps should be placed in the designated scrap box.
- All paint it to be returned to the cabinet or closet from which it came.
- All paint brushes are to be washed until the water runs clean.
- All brushes, glue sticks, scissors, markers, pencils, glitter, fabric, yarn or any other craft supply is to be put back in the cabinet or bucket NEATLY where you got it from.
- Unplug all glue guns at the end of their use.
Free time
- All students should be reading their monthly play or quietly doing other school work.
Participating in class discussions
- All students are expected to participate by raising their hand.
- Other students are to listen to others questions or discussion points. Other conversations should not be happening while others talk.
When a school-wide announcement or classroom page comes on the overhead speaker.
- Students are to be silent.
- Only Mrs. Silva replies to a classroom page.
When the phone rings.
- Students are to be quiet when Mrs. Silva receives a call.
What to do when a substitute is here.
- Respect the substitute.
- No students are to go in the Costume Closet or Props Closet.
- Look at the board for your daily work/assignment.
